Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oils are generally regarded as having an anti-inflammatory effect in the human body. They are important components of substances known as prostaglandins and leukotrienes. Prostaglandins and leukotrienes are important in immune function, smooth muscle function, platelet aggregation and inflammation. Fish oils have an anti-inflammatory action because prostaglandins and leukotrienes from omega-3 fatty acids have less inflammatory activity than prostaglandins and leukotrienes derived from other types of fatty acids.

While found naturally in foods such as walnuts, salmon, tuna, olive oil and avocados, many Australian's still do not get their daily dose of omega-3s. For people at risk of heart disease, the Heart Foundation recommends to consume about 1000 milligrams of omega-3s every day.

We suggest Blackmores Omega Daily Concentrated Fish Oil.

While fish oil supplements are often recommended, BLACKMORES Omega Daily has double the amount of omega-3s of standard fish oil tablets. Concentrated so that you only need to take one capsule a day, it promotes optimal health and wellbeing.

If you're not a fan of the fishy taste and want to avoid artificial substances, then try BLACKMORES Omega Daily. The clear, soft gelatine capsules have a low odour without the use of artificial surfactants. Take one a day to support your body's general wellbeing.
